So you think your business doesn’t need a website?

It’s often assumed that everyone has a website these days. This is far from the truth, however. You may even be one of the holdouts, thinking that your business doesn’t need a website. You might assume, for example, that if you depend on foot traffic or word of mouth for most of your business that a website is unnecessary. No matter what kind of business you have, you’re losing lots of potential revenue by not having a website.

Makes It Easier to Find You

People now search for every type of business online. This is true of brick and mortar businesses such as restaurants and retail stores as much as online businesses. When someone is searching for the type of product or service that you supply, chances are very good that he or she will search online. If you don’t have a website, such people will find one of your competitors. You’ll never know how much business you may be losing in this manner.

Gives You a Way to Communicate With Customers

A website provides you with a digital presence that helps you stay in touch with your customers. You can advertise your latest products and promotions. You can list any changes in your hours or location. You can build a mailing list and send out newsletters to your customers. All of this is much easier when you have a website.

Builds Your Credibility and Reputation

A good website helps to establish you as a serious and professional business. One of the first things people will do when they hear about your business is to check out your website. A website also helps to boost your reputation when people read about you online. Customers increasingly rely on ratings and reviews before making a purchase. Whether you own a beauty salon, dental practice, general contracting company or landscape service, people want to see ratings and reviews before they try you out. You can accumulate positive reviews online without a website, of course. However, they won’t do you much good if people reading these reviews can’t click on your website.

These are just a few of the ways that a website can help your business. A website helps every type of business gain credibility, stay in touch with its customers and solidify its reputation. There’s no longer any valid reason to claim that you don’t need a website.
